Our Coaches:

     Clare Parker

Clare is a Qualified British Gymnastics Club Coach.  She graduated from the University of Chichester in 2001 with a Sports Science Bsc Hons, she holds a current First Aid Qualification.

Clare tells us: "Ever since the age of 6 I have been in love with the sport of gymnastics. I was a member of the Pegasus School of Gymnastics for 12 years and through hard work and dedication reached County, Regional and National Levels.

I began coaching at the age of 15 and in 2002 spent over a year and half at Port Regis School in Dorset working as a full time gymnastics coach within a specialist facility. I hope to share my coaching knowledge and passion with the members of Fareham School of Gymnastics".

Spotlight on Ken Dimmer

Initially Ken (Mr D / The Lense!) used to watch through the door like many parents, but with Clare spending 6 days a week at the gym, it was suggested he should try his hand at coaching. Ken coached at Pegasus School of Gymnastics until Clare went to University.

Ken is a qualified teacher who originally taught Geography and PE. He then went on to become Head of Special Needs at The Neville Lovett School. Sport has always been an important part of Ken's life, running weight training classes at school for his pupils and as an evening class for adults. He was also a competitive table tennis player.

Like Barbara, Ken also makes a significant contribution to the running of the club. He holds a Level 3 coaching qualification, is a first aider and is CRB checked
